Relay Testing
ARTES II - Automatic Relay Test Systems
The purpose of power system protection devices is to recognize system faults quickly and reliably and to minimize impairments to the power supply by selectively switching off faulted sections of the power system.
The use of well-chosen protection devices which operate safely and reliably can have a decisive effect on the operational safety of complex electrical networks and plants.
The extent to which the reliability of protection devices can meet expectations depends initially on correct device selection and on the quality of the manufacturer's production process and final test and inspection procedures.
However, only regular testing of protection devices by the user can guarantee that they function correctly throughout their operational life.
These functional tests include the detailed examination of the ch aracteristics configured and the functions used in order to check and, if necessary, restore the availability of the protection devices.

ARTES 100 - The Multi-Functional Relay Test System
ARTES 100 is a universal test device which can provide particularly high levels of output power up to 1000 VA per source. The three built-in signal sources work entirely independently of each other and can be used as either current or voltage so urces. In addition to carrying out secondary tests on protection relays, the high output current of up to 250 A enables ARTES 100 to be used for a variety of different purposes, including primary tests for commissioning and main-tenance. State-of-the-art power electronics make it unnecessary to set or adjust the output signals manually before tests. Phase displacements betw een the output quantities and different signal frequencies can be set independently of the supply voltage.ARTES 100 is compact, robust and easy to handle. It can be set up ready for use extremely quickly and is operated and controlled with a small number of function keys and a jog dial.
ARTES V4 - The New Relay Testing Software
In 1996, KoCoS was the first company to develop and market Windows-based software for relay testing.
Today, we a re pleased to announce another first: the ARTES V4 software with a Microsoft Fluent user interface.
The advantages of this user interface include improved handling and significant savings in time due to the use of context-specific tabs and the ease with which new users become familiar with the software.
