With ARTES test systems, testing protection relay with IEC-61850-8-1 communication has never been easier.

A very important feature of the 4th ARTES generation is its particularly powerful signal processing. The direct connection of the Ethernet interfaces to the processor enables processing in real time.

During tests in IEC-61850 networks, control signals such as excitation and tripping are distributed over the network in form of GOOSE telegrams and directly acquired by ARTES and evaluated accordingly.

An additional time synchronization with the network also offers the possibility to use the time of transmission of the signals as a reference and thus compensate the network latency.

Like all other test modules, this function is also included in the standard scope of delivery.
