2007-10-23 - KoCoS Optical Measurement GmbH at SEMICON Europa
This year for the first time, KoCoS Optical Measurement GmbH had its own stand at SEMICON Europa, the international trade show for the semiconductor industry. This is another step forwards in the continuing success story of this young company which recently won a large contract to deliver a number of WGI 300 Wafer Geometry Inspectors to a wafer factory in Singapore.
The WGI 300 measuring system met with a very warm reception at SEMICON. Discussions are now underway with well-known international concerns on future cooperation in the area of service and sales networks.
KoCoS now also offers an EFEM (Equipment Front End Module) which makes child's play of integrating the WGI 300 measuring system in wafer manufacturing processes. This module is developed and manufactured by our Weimar subsidiary, KoCoS Automation GmbH. Using this module, wafers are automatically removed from their transport cassettes by robot and are pre-aligned before being inserted in the measuring station proper. After measurement, wafers are automatically returned to their cassettes. Like the measuring system itself, the EFEM is available for clean rooms up to ISO class 1.
