IMP-Monitor

The IMP-Monitor is the ideal tool for checking the operating times and impedance zones of distance protection devices. The programme automatically calculates the test values for the defined fault impedances and the selected fault type. The required fault impedance, which can be located on the line characteristic or in any of the four quadrants of the complex R-X plane, is defined in the complex impedance plane or in the distance-time diagram. The reaction of the device under test is recorded during the test. Test evaluation is performed with reference to the defined tripping characteristic of the distance protection device. In addition, the IMP-Monitor also enables the ARC (Auto-Reclose) function of the protective equipment to be checked. The aim of this test is to verify the dead time(s) of a successful or unsuccessful auto-reclose operation.
